Your new company
I’m working with a management consulting company that specialize in delivering program management, project management, construction management and program control services to clients in the building, transportation, industrial and environmental sectors.

As a business their portfolio of project work is very diverse covering a number of markets including major university capital programs, hospitals and healthcare, research & development, both large and small corporate interior projects, highways and bridges, light and heavy rail transit, new airport and airport expansions, energy, natural gas, petro-chemical, and environmental projects.

Your new role
As the Scheduler, it is essential that you possess strong communication and team building skills along with reporting, management and proven leadership capabilities. You must have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, with full transparency, as required by the client/project. In addition, you must be knowledgeable and responsible for developing, reviewing, reporting and supervising construction schedules.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, update and maintain schedules (resource loaded if required).
  • Perform schedule reviews, prepare weekly, bi-weekly and/or monthly schedule update analysis reports, investigate and analyze schedule impacts and recommend corrective to be taken in order to mitigate/avoid cost and schedule overruns.
  • Monitor, review and report to senior and executive management the schedule status of the project.
  • Represent company and/or project in meetings with owner, A/E representatives and other contractors as required.
  • Develop “what-if” schedule scenarios, mitigation schedules, look-ahead schedules, time impact analysis.
  • Identify schedule issues, opportunities and corrective actions to mitigate potential delays to projects.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have 5+ years’ experience within a Scheduling capacity with either a general contractor or developer and have an understanding of construction processes. You will demonstrate an understanding and knowledge in the use of modern planning and scheduling principals, methodologies, techniques and tools. The successful individual we be fully versed in MS Office, Primavera P6 and MS Project along with demonstrating knowledge and experience in the preparation and development of resource loaded Design and Construction Schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM).
