Cognizant is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer in Northbrook (Cook), IL.

Role Description

The Service Desk Technician is the single point of contact for customers to obtain technical support. Install, assess, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade computers(Apple Mac and Dell PC) and equipment of different types, including copiers, printers, and scanners, of all users so that they perform optimally. Investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving the company’s IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions

Skills & Requirements

• 3-6 years experience
• IT Service Desk Technician is the single point of contact for customers to obtain technical support.
• Install, assess, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade computers and equipment of different types, including copiers, printers, and scanners, of all users so that they perform optimally.
• Investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving the company’s IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
• Monitoring and alerting.
• User permissions and administration.
• SSO and password management.
• File organization and management.
• System usage policies and procedures.
• Software installation, updates and upkeep.
• Redundancies, rollovers and recovery plans.
