The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Endpoint Security Engineer in Raleigh, NC.

Role Description

The Security Engineer is responsible for executing the enterprise-wide strategy to identify, implement, and support Endpoint Defense solutions within the environment. This hands-on position requires strong collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams to ensure the operational effectiveness of technology solutions in compliance with information security policies, and regulatory obligations. The candidate will have the ability to identify, document and maintain security safeguards and configurations in a highly complex environment. Must have the ability to recognize, and appropriately incorporate layered security safeguards within the network, cloud, application, and data layers from a defender’s perspective.
• Identify, implement, and maintain technical security solutions to enhance SECU’s endpoint security posture. This includes creating and enhancing documentation of the architecture, processes and controls for improving the Endpoint Defense program to ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Participate in operational responsibility of security products within the Endpoint Defense environment. This includes milestone planning, deployment coordination, change management, documentation, and user training of new and existing technologies.
• Participate in endpoint security policy tuning and development based on data analysis of Endpoint Defense incidents and new use cases.
• Serve as a tier II resource for escalated endpoint security incidents and other security related issues or outages. This includes providing support for security related issues on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year basis.
• Work effectively with other Information Security teams to ensure technology security implementations are in alignment with organizational strategic goals and providing insight and expertise on Security Engineering subjects to cross-functional groups and stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in a cyber security engineering or analyst role
• Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting in-depth issues at the endpoint level related to endpoint security tools
• Experience with hardware and software for networking, distributed computing, virtualization, large-scale, high-performance storage systems, operating systems, databases, telephony and cloud computing
• Demonstrated experience working with tools such as Advanced EDR, DLP, Group Policy, Email Security, Access Management, Host-Firewall in either an incident response or engineering role
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Security Architects, Principal Engineers, and Security Analysts to understand and implement services and policies based on requirements
• Demonstrated ability to configure tool integrations and advise on best practices from an Endpoint Security perspective
• Ability to execute under pressure and quickly pivot between tasks while maintaining focus on primary projects and deliverables
• Ability and willingness to mentor and collaborate with junior security engineers and analysts
• Familiarity with change management best practices and ability to follow them is required
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy
• Professional certifications such as: CISSP, GISP, GCED, CEH, or other relevant industry certification and/or desire to obtain such certifications.
