Hiring Scheduler for nationally recognized general contractor based in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Construction Scheduler

The Scheduler develops and implements standard scheduling practices, guidelines, and tools across the region that enable the updating, maintaining, and reporting on project progress. This could include graphics, narratives, and other materials required to present an accurate and up-to-date view of the project’s schedule status. The role ensures that all project teams are trained and adhere to the general contractors’ protocols for creating and maintaining project schedules.

  • This includes master CPM schedules, look-ahead schedules, design schedules, procurement schedules, pull planning schedules, and more.
  • The role requires extensive collaboration with all project team members to set scheduling standards, create work products, establish project timelines, define performance indicators, manage risks, train on best practices, and help project teams with recovery strategies.
  • Responsible for collaborative planning sessions with the project team, subcontractors, design team, and stakeholders to gather input on sequencing and durations related to overall project timelines.
  • Advising project leadership on developing the baseline project schedule, maintaining monthly schedule updates, and writing narratives.
  • Accountable for coordination efforts with subcontractors, ensuring project schedules are current and meet project timelines.
  • Providing support to the project team on effective field communication between the owner’s representative, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • The role integrates the project schedule into the working model using tools, including 4D Building Information Modeling, and coordinates with the Virtual Design Construction Department.
  • Assists and advises on the VE of schedules to achieve the shortest possible project duration and supports efforts in Pull Planning and similar schedule techniques as needed.
  • It reviews schedules for purposes of delays, claims, and notices, and establishes protocols associated with these items. It develops metric and reporting tools and standards and institutes a reporting protocol to meet the needs of regional leadership and external stakeholders.
  • The Scheduler helps create, manage, and maintain the regional project schedule database.
  • Experience Required

    • The ideal candidate will have a history of increasingly responsible scheduling experience and proven results.
    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of experience in construction scheduling or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
    • Field and office experience in delivering project schedules is required.
    • Proficiency with scheduling, spreadsheets, project management software, and project control tools,
    • Advanced experience with the following software: Office, Prolog, Microsoft Project, P6, and Asta Powerproject is necessary.
    • The ability to read and comprehend building plans and specifications is required.
    • estimating experience including take-offs is preferred.
    • The role requires the ability to travel to project work sites 70+ miles away.
