Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs of heavy civil construction projects, including bridges, highways, tunnels, and other large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze construction plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials, and labor required for each project.
- Prepare cost estimates, bids, and proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that project estimates are accurate and comprehensive.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction costs, materials, and labor rates in the Houston, TX area.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information and clarify project requirements.
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain pricing and other information necessary for project estimates.
- Prepare and present project estimates to clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that project estimates are completed on-time and within budget.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and practices.
- Experience with estimating software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Must be willing to work in Houston, TX and travel as needed.
