Sr. Network Engineer– CTP – Atlanta, GA – $48.00 - $60.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer in Atlanta, GA.

Role Description


• The Senior Network Engineer is a central university office position responsible for voice and data for the company’s Enterprise communications systems.
• Applies network knowledge of various data platform, support applications, and networking infrastructure while providing technical expertise for network infrastructure designs, and configurations.
• On the Network Project Engineering team, he/she will provide direction for company's enterprise network and lead projects for improvement and stability of the network.
• The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the tools for optimizing network improvement and performance. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots network services and devices.
• Interacts with customers to determine their need and wants and engineer a solution to resolve their network issues.
• Performs inspections and upgrades. Develops and maintains documentation for design to troubleshooting. Designs system configuration.
• Collaborates with others for active maintenance and future growth.
• Sets policies, guidelines and best practices. Reports on results.
• This position acts as a subject matter expert for the Enterprise network and provides auxiliary support for other company IT services.
• Supports other Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Healthcare staff to troubleshoot system issues and resolve network and service-related issues at the customer premise.
• This position can provide 24 x 7 on-call support to assist with restoring service during a major outage.
• Must have the aptitude to perform troubleshooting, testing with the ability to learn scripting and coding to support automation.
• Demonstrates leadership and mentoring abilities to the less-experienced engineers.
• Provides support without direction and have the ability to support modifications and changes to configuration.

Skills & Requirements


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and five years of related IT experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required: 5-10 years of experience

• hands-on experience with VXLan
• DSN
• Data Center experience
• Hands-on experience with Routing and switching.
• Advanced knowledge of network operating systems
• Proficiency in network analysis tools
• Firewall experience
• Extensive knowledge of coding languages, protocols, hardware components and IP based networking technologies
