DEQ Business Analyst – Contract – Remote – $45.00 - $50.00/hr.



The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a DEQ Business Analyst in Remote opportunity.

Role description

• The BA will work with the division of Water Resources to move various legacy applications to the Microsoft Power Platform.
• This would include understanding the requirements of the existing systems and how to re-build them, not migrate, into the Power Platform and working directly with developers.
• It may also include helping to decommission the existing systems.
• Legacy systems are primarily Java / DB@ and PHP / MySQL.
• BA will work closely with NCDEQ’s IT Project Manager in assisting with solution documentation and project management tools to meet State IT requirements.

• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements. Required 10 Years
• Experience in writing detailed Business Requirements and Functional Design documentation Required 5 Years
• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders to determine improved business solutions Required 5 Years
• Experience working with cross functional teams Required 5 Years
• Experience creating process flow diagrams Required 5 Years
• Excellent verbal and written communication. Candidate should be able to communicate well with project managers and stakeholders. Required 5 Years
• Knowledge of business processes Required 5 Years
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Required 5 Years
• Strong analytical skills Required 5 Years
• Delivering and leading end user training sessions Desired 5 Years
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM Certification Highly desired 5 Years
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM) Highly desired 5 Years
• Strong understanding of the CRM Platform and its functional modules Desired 5 Years
• BSc in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or commensurate experience Required 3 Years
• Experience serving as the Lead Business Analyst on combined team of analysts and developers Desired 5 Years
• User Story documentation Desired 2 Years.
